Location
The Premier Inn is a mile from Birmingham International Airport and it takes 5 to 10 minutes to drive there. It’s in the grounds of the National Exhibition Centre.
Parking
Parking is free for guests overnight. Park and fly packages are on offer, with a night’s accommodation for up to 2 adults and 2 children and long term parking starting from £85 (April 2010). It also includes a Grab & Go breakfast in the morning.
Check-in/out and breakfast
Check-in is at 2 pm and check-out is at midday. There is a hot buffet style breakfast available from 6.30 am until 10 am and a Grab & Go option for those in a rush to make their plane.
Shuttle bus
There’s no shuttle bus and a taxi to the airport will cost about £6.
Hotel facilities
There’s a restaurant at the Premier Inn which serves 3 meals a day and has options for younger guests. You can book a meal deal with your room, which includes a 2 course dinner from a special menu, a drink of your choice and an all you can eat hot and cold breakfast. Prices start at £76 for this (April 2010). The hotel also has a bar and a meeting room which can hold up to 20 delegates. There’s a Costa Coffee Shop in the building and guests can take a stroll in the gardens.
Guest rooms
There are 247 rooms altogether – a combination of double, twin and family rooms. They are all air-conditioned and have a shower room with toiletries, a flat screen TV, hairdryer and tea and coffee tray. They also have WiFi access, so if you need to check your emails you can, but there’s a charge to use this.
Accessibility
The Premier Inn has blue badge parking spaces and the building is fully accessible. There are hearing loops and vibrating fire alarms available. Guests can book an accessible room with wet room.
Directions
From the M42 motorway, exit at Junction 6 signposted for the NEC. Follow the signs in to the NEC complex and take the first right onto South Way. The hotel is fully signposted and found at the fifth roundabout. Birmingham International is the nearest railway station.
